Co-Owner & Managing Member
Casey Carlson
Casey is the managing member listed with the State of Arizona. He runs operations, scope quality, and warranty fulfillment across every HailCo project.
Owner-operated Scottsdale roofers. Honest quotes, 25-year workmanship warranty, 24-hour storm response. Tile, shingle, foam, or metal.
A Scottsdale company, by name
HailCo Roofing started after enough Valley homeowners told us the same story: a monsoon cell hit, a roofer showed up, oversold a replacement, and disappeared once the check cleared. So we built the opposite of that. We're licensed, bonded, and based in Scottsdale, and we tell you the cheapest fix that actually works, not the most expensive one we can justify.

The honest version
We've been asked to clean up enough other contractors' work to see the same three failure modes, over and over. Here they are, and what HailCo does instead.
01
“They sell you a new roof you don't need.”
HailCo: diagnose first, sell later. Most calls we take don't end in a replacement. They end in a repair or a re-underlayment. If a $400 fix holds the roof for ten more years, that's what we recommend.
02
“The quote on day one is not the bill at the end.”
HailCo: itemized written estimate with material, labor, tear-off, underlayment, and decking-allowance line items. If decking surprises show up mid-job, you see the change order before we proceed, never after.
03
“They disappear once the check clears.”
HailCo: workmanship warranty up to 25 years and a project file you can actually find a decade later. Call us in year 10 and you'll get a human, not a ticketing system.
Meet the owners
HailCo is owner-operated by a team of three. Casey Carlson is the managing member and runs warranty fulfillment. Brandon Dunaway directs day-to-day operations, crew scheduling, and field dispatch. Tanner Sewell leads estimating and walks every residential roof himself before HailCo quotes it. No franchise, no commission-driven sales reps, no corporate parent. Just three owners doing the work alongside the crews.

Co-Owner & Managing Member
Casey is the managing member listed with the State of Arizona. He runs operations, scope quality, and warranty fulfillment across every HailCo project.

Co-Owner & Director of Operations
Brandon brings a decade-plus inside HailCo companies to the roofing operation. As Director of Operations he runs crew scheduling, vendor coordination, and the daily systems that keep every job on time.

Co-Owner & Lead Estimator
Tanner runs estimating and customer relationships across the Phoenix Valley. He personally walks every residential roof before HailCo quotes it.
“If the cheapest fix solves the problem, the cheapest fix is the right answer. Most days, that's not what the homeowner expects to hear, but it's the one that earns the next ten years of their roof work.”
- Tanner Sewell, co-owner

What we do

01
When a roof has reached the end of its service life or sustained damage beyond patching, a clean tear-off and new install is the most cost-effective path forward.

02
Targeted fixes for leaks, cracked tile, lifted shingles, and failed flashing.

03
Roofs for new construction, additions, casitas, and ADU builds.

04
Same-day tarp, dry-in, and active-leak response across the Valley.

05
Pre-purchase, annual maintenance, and post-storm inspections with a written report.
Materials, honestly
Most Valley homeowners get told they need the most expensive system available. The truth is more interesting, and usually cheaper. Here's what each material is actually good at.

In the field
Casey, Brandon, and Tanner aren't running a call center. Residential estimates are owner-walked. Storm response is owner-dispatched. The people who built this company are the people you'll see up the ladder.
The HailCo Standard
The HailCo Standard is how we run every job, from the first inspection to year-25 of the warranty. Each step has a name because each step exists to earn the next one. No shortcuts, no hand-offs, no surprises.
We come out, get on the roof, and look at decking, field, flashing, valleys, and penetrations. You get a written report with photos - no scare tactics, no fake urgency.
We tell you the cheapest path that fixes the actual problem, not the most expensive path that pays the highest commission. Often that's a repair, not a replacement.
Itemized estimate with material options, warranty terms, and clear scope language. No vague line items, no surprise adds during the job.
Set start date, set crew size, set finish date, and hit them. Daily cleanup, magnetic sweep, project manager you can text directly.
Workmanship warranty up to 25 years. Manufacturer warranty up to 50. Call us in year 10 and you'll still get a human, not an outsourced ticketing system.
What customers say
“After a monsoon cell took out half the tile on our west slope, HailCo had a tarp on by sundown and a real fix scheduled by Tuesday. Insurance side of the claim was handled without me having to learn what 'Xactimate' meant.”
“We had three roofers quote our re-underlayment. HailCo was the only one who explained that the tile itself was fine and we didn't need to replace it. Saved us thousands and the roof looks the same as the day it was built.”
“I called expecting to be told I needed a new roof. The crew lead got up there, found a single cracked flashing, and fixed it for under $500. That's the kind of honest call you don't forget.”
“Property manager for a 48-unit complex - HailCo did our full re-roof over three weeks without a single tenant complaint about scheduling. That alone earned them our next building.”
“They met our adjuster on the roof and walked through every finding. The supplement they filed added items the initial scope had missed. End-to-end professional.”
“Crew was on time every day, clean every day, and the project manager texted updates without me having to ask. The actual roof came out beautiful, but the experience is what we'll tell people about.”

Frequently asked
The ones we hear most often, from first-time roof buyers and seasoned property owners alike. If something here doesn't cover your situation, just call.
Or ask us directly: (480) 582-3122For non-emergencies we book initial inspections within 2–4 business days. Active leaks and storm damage are dispatched same-day or next-day depending on time of call.
Yes. Arizona ROC #346211, fully bonded and insured. We carry general liability and workers' comp on every crew, and we'll send you certificates before work begins.
Free written estimates for replacement, repair scopes over a basic threshold, and storm damage assessments tied to an active insurance claim. Pre-purchase and standalone inspections carry a small fee that's usually credited if you proceed with us.
Concrete and clay tile, architectural and impact-rated asphalt shingle, spray polyurethane foam (SPF), and standing-seam metal. We work in all four because Arizona homes need all four - there's no single right material for the Valley.
Yes. We document damage, meet adjusters on the roof, and file supplements when scope is short. We're not public adjusters. We work the roof side of the claim, which is where 90% of the friction usually lives.
Usually not. Most of what we're called out for ends up being a repair or a re-underlayment, not a full tear-off. We'll show you the math both ways and let you decide.
Up to 25 years on workmanship depending on scope, plus the manufacturer warranty on materials (up to 50 years on premium lines). Real warranty, not the marketing kind - we'll walk through exactly what each one covers.
Yes. We have active service in Flagstaff, Prescott, and Tucson on top of the full Valley. Mileage may add to scheduling lead time on those scopes.
