Is TPO better than EPDM?+
For most new commercial installs, yes. TPO's reflectivity, weldability, and warranty terms outperform EPDM in the Phoenix climate. EPDM still has places, especially lower-budget scopes.
How long does TPO last?+
Quality TPO with proper install and reasonable foot traffic lasts 20 to 30 years. Most failures we see are install-quality issues, not material failures.
Can TPO be installed over an existing roof?+
Sometimes, if the existing deck is sound and local code allows overlay. We inspect before recommending overlay. Tear-and-replace gives a longer-lasting result and avoids trapped moisture.
What's the typical warranty on a commercial TPO install?+
Premium-grade TPO systems with certified installation carry 20- to 25-year manufacturer warranties. Standard installs run 10 to 15 years. We specify and quote both.
How does TPO handle Phoenix UV exposure?+
